*It is between the Tigris and Euphrates river or in the Fertile Crescent.
*Northern Mesopotamia is made up of hills and plains. it is excellent farming land due to lots of rain, and had many natural reasources.
* Southern Mesopotamia is primarily marshes and plains. they built there cities along the rivers due to the lacking supply of natural resources and had to irrigate the wide flat plains in order to farm them.

Human Characteristics
are characteristics about people, culture, and daily life of a region
*They had the first written language: Cuneiform which were symbols/images that make words.
* Mesopotamians spoke many languages primarily Sumerian, Akkadian, and Semitic.
*Mesopotamia was Polytheistic meaning they beileved in multiple different gods. Like Anu- the god of the sky, heavens, and constellations; and Shamash- the god of the sun and justice.
*Daily Life: There were the poor and the rich, the poor lived in wooden or clay houses with dirt floor. They would eat tough gritty bread and soup accompanied by rice. The father would head off to his job, the kids would go to school if the parentsw could afford it. If not they would stay home with their mother and help cook and clean. The rich lived in stone houses with beutiful achitecture. For food they would get good wheat bread and fresh meat accompanied by a rice. if the father worked he woulod head off and the children would go to school or go hunting, swimming or shopping. The mother of a rich family did not have to work because the rich had servants.
*People who had jobs were specialized in that specific job which made them better and more efficient, this was called division of labor and worked well for the Mesopotamians.
*When children came to be there was defintie care for detail and attention, infants and pregnant mothers were protected from evil spirits by amulets and spells.
*when people died there would be a funeral ceremony similar to the Egyptions, they would be buried with belongings precoius to them, however, instead of putting them in a sarcophagus they were buried in ceramic jars.
